Successful Proficiency Testing Results for Particle Size AnalysisJuly 26, 2017

We are pleased to report that our latest participation in an accredited Proficiency Testing scheme has been 100% successful. The scheme, which is coordinated in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043 by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), division 5.5 “Advanced technical ceramics” was for the measurement of the particle size distribution of ceramic powder by laser diffraction in accordance with ISO 13320:2009.

Three materials were analysed; Glass Microspheres, Ceramic Beads and Quartz Powder. All materials tested produced results that were well within the expected particle size range and had low z-scores.

A group of 32 laboratories from 9 countries participated in the PT. Laser diffraction analysers produced by 9 different manufacturers were used. Of the 32 laboratories, 24 attained the minimum requirements to achieve a successful participation.

Participation in proficiency testing schemes forms part of escubed’s commitment to ensuring excellent quality and accuracy of our particle size analysis results in addition to fulfilling the requirements of our ISO / IEC 17025:2005 accreditation.
