Thermal Analysis

In partnership with Mettler Toledo, escubed are now offering extended material characterisation services with the addition of thermal instrumentation to our extensive particle characterisation equipment. Providing consultancy and contract analysis services using state of the art equipment with expert technical knowledge across a wide range of sectors.

Thermal analysis is important to many industries including pharmaceuticals, polymer, chemicals, food and many more to measure a huge range of physical and chemical properties as a function of temperature. In all these methods, the sample is subjected to a heating, cooling or isothermal temperature program

The measurements may be performed in different atmospheres. Usualy, either an inert atmosphere (nitrogen, argon, helium) or an oxidative atmosphere (air, oxygen) is used. In some cases, the gases are switched from one atmosphere to another during the measurement.

  • Differential Scanning Calorimetry, MDSC ( Temp range; -85-700⁰C)
  • Thermogravimetric Analysis, TGA (Temp range; RT-1100⁰C)
  • Thermogravimetric Analysis with Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry (TGA-GCMS)
  • Thermogravimetric Analysis with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (TGA-FTIR)
  • Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (Temp range; -190⁰C-600⁰C)
